Finance Dashboard Overview

Navigate the Finance hub, read revenue and expense KPIs, understand the P&L statement, apply time filters, and switch between single-entity and consolidated views.

The Finance hub gives CFOs and finance teams a real-time view of financial performance. This article walks you through the main dashboard, its KPI cards, the P&L statement, time filters, and multi-entity switching.

Accessing the Finance Dashboard

The Finance dashboard is available to users with the Admin, Manager, or Finance role. Navigate to it from the sidebar under Finance > Dashboard.

  1. Click Finance in the sidebar to expand the Finance section.
  2. Select Dashboard to open the main overview.
  3. The dashboard loads with your default entity selected. If you manage multiple entities, you will see a selector at the top.

Revenue, Expenses & Margin KPIs

The top section displays four KPI cards that give you an instant pulse on financial health:

  • Total Revenue — Sum of all invoiced revenue for the selected period, with a trend arrow comparing to the previous period.
  • Total Expenses — Sum of all operational costs, broken down by category on hover.
  • Gross Margin — Revenue minus cost of goods sold, displayed as both amount and percentage.
  • Net Margin — Bottom-line profitability after all expenses, taxes, and adjustments.

Pro tip

Click any KPI card to drill down into its breakdown. Revenue breaks into product lines, expenses into cost categories. This helps identify exactly where gains or losses originate.

Profit & Loss Statement

Below the KPI cards, the full P&L statement is rendered in a familiar accounting layout. Each line item is expandable to show sub-accounts:

  1. Revenue — Broken down by product line, region, or customer segment depending on your ERP mapping.
  2. Cost of Goods Sold — Raw materials, direct labor, and manufacturing overhead.
  3. Operating Expenses — SG&A, marketing, R&D, and other operational costs.
  4. EBITDA & Net Income — Calculated automatically with margins displayed inline.

Note

P&L data comes from your connected ERP. If numbers look unexpected, check that your latest sync completed successfully under Settings > Integrations.

Time Period Filters

Use the time filter bar to adjust the reporting period. Available presets include:

  • This Month / Last Month — Quick comparison of current vs. previous month.
  • This Quarter / Last Quarter — Quarterly rollup for board-level reporting.
  • Year to Date / Last Year — Full-year view for annual trend analysis.
  • Custom Range — Pick any start and end date for ad-hoc analysis.

All KPI cards and charts update dynamically when you change the period. The comparison arrow always references the equivalent previous period (e.g., this month vs. last month).

Multi-Entity View

If your company has multiple subsidiaries connected to Kolva, you can switch between individual entity views and a consolidated group view:

  1. Use the entity selector dropdown at the top of the dashboard.
  2. Select a specific entity to see its standalone financials.
  3. Select All Entities (Consolidated) to see the aggregated group view with inter-company eliminations applied.

Pro tip

Use the consolidated view for board presentations and investor reporting. Switch to individual entity views when investigating specific performance issues or anomalies.
